The AVALANCHE BALL is easy to Handle...

Just fold up

the AVALANCHE BALL...

...and put it into the system bag.

A short tug on the ripcord...

...causes the system bag to open

and deploys the AVALANCHE BALL.

Always on the ball...

The user is linked to the ball via a separate waist harness.

This makes the system compatible with any backpack. Even if the backpack gets lost in the avalanche, the ball will remain linked to the person

Packing instructions                                                                       Video (3MB)

The rope is folded and placed in the second bellows behind the small plastic hoop together with the black balloon belt.

Then the AVALANCHE BALL is folded so that only the flexible cord joined to the waist belt protrudes from the second bellows.

The AVALANCHE BALL  is placed in the system bag with the small hoop on the top and the large hoop on the bottom.

Next the tightening strap is fed through the plastic eyelet to fix the balloon. Then the tightening strap is fed through below the aluminium axle of the balloon.

Now thread the tightening strap through the eyelets 2 and 3 of the two lateral sections...

...followed by the lower flap eyelet 4 and finally the cover flap eyelet 5.

Finally pull the tightening strap out and fix it with the hook...

..and fix it with the velcro.

Fastening to pack and body

The AVALANCHE BALL is small, lightweight and desigend to fit on virtually any backpack. It increases safety as well on a daypack as on a big pack for multiday-tours!

There is a velcro strap on the top of the system bag. Use this to fasten the system bag to the haul strap on the top of your pack..

The connecting belt of the system bag is used for additional fastening of the AVALANCHE BALL to the pack. Attach the system to the pack as vertically as possible.

There are three loops on the bottom of the system bag, which can be additionally attached to the closures of the top pocket. Use the middle loop for top pockets with one closure - use the two outer loops for top pockets with two closures.

After fixing the AVALANCHE BALL to the pack, fix the release mechanism on the left or right shoulder strap facing forwards in a position you find comfortable.

Use the enclosed velcro strip to attach the release mechanism to the  left or right shoulder strap of your pack. Place the red ripcord handle on the velcro strap.

Place the waist belt of the system around your waist. Pass the end of the waitsbelt through the buckle in the opposite direction. Please note that the flexible cord must always be led along the outside of the pack waist belt and/or shoulder straps.

Releasing the AVALANCHE BALL:

A short tug on the ripcord releases the system or checkts its perfomrance anytime and immediately.

The system bag opens and releases the AVALANCHE BALL.

The systemis mechanical and functions without batteries or gas cartridges – it can be tested easily at any time without cost.

With the AVALANCHE BALL, there are no longer "technical safety loopholes" – like  low batteries or empty gas cartridges. The cord is attached directly to the body. Therefore, the balloon remains even connected to the user if the pack is lost in the avalanche..
